![]() Now I continue the relationship with Instagram and Facebook as a member of Spark AR beta program, this means I know what new features are coming for Instagram Filters and I have time to experiment with them before they are realised to the public. And on Decemeber 2018 I have partcipated in beta of Spark AR for Instagram. ![]() I was invited by Facebook to participate in the 2018 AR Studio and 2019 Spark AR Hackathons in London. Since then I designed and developed Instagram filters for brands like Snickers, Greggs, Flight Centre, Tiesto, Superdrug and others. In May 2019, I decided to quit my job to pursue a career as a freelance AR creator. Working with account managers and designers allowed me to learn how AR can fit in overall social media strategy and how to reach clients KPIs. During this time I created Facebook AR filters for André Rieu, Thomas Cook, RS Components, Maddox Gallery and others. Since then I was working with Facebook AR Studio while working as a creative technologist in a social media agency in London. I started experimenting with AR when I discovered AR Studio, the predecessor of Spark AR, during summer 2017. I have been participating in the evolution of AR in social media from the very beginning over 2 years ago. Scanning code opens the user’s Instagram and loads the filter. Connected all parts together reveal a QRcode. On Wild Rift’s Facebook, Twitter and website gamers can find 3 parts of a map. The effect is promoted as an online treasure hunt. User can tap on them to interact with them and reveal more about Teemo’s adventures. Teemo jumps out from the portal and finds himself surrounded by mushrooms. Using plane tracker user can point a place where the portal appears. But the star of this AR filter is Teemo himself, who appears in back camera filter. In the selfie camera, the user gets Teemo’s hat on their head and using facial gestures they can interact with it. Users can use both selfie and back camera to play with different filters. We have used Riot Games League of Legends assets and the power of Facebook’s Spark AR to allow gamers to bring Teemo to live in their own environment. I have partnered with Unit9 to create this AR effect for League of Legends: Wild Rift This AR effect is available on Instagram. See it in action in the below footage with open-mouth behavior and the cinematic post effect filter.Help Teemo on his adventure and find missing scrolls. I also put a wedge-shape cylinder for each cars’ headlight and assigned them with the fade color map to render the headlight shining. To mimic the light bulbs’ glow effect, I added the billboard planes for each light bulb and textured them with a pre-made glowing map. I used Blender to build the whole 3D scene and put them together into Lens Studio, Snap’s filter creation tool. When it applies to the lens creation, it implies the idea to drive through the tunnel, your mouth, toward or outward the wonderland of Los Angeles. The entrance of Luna Park is the mouth of a giant joker, and it forms a strong anchor in my brain for the Australian journey years ago. Suddenly the scary memory of Luna Park in Sydney filled my mind. The bridge is the subject, and then the vehicles are naturally the characters in the story. I was challenging myself for leaving an impression of Los Angeles and tuned out it is the bridge. It became the famous movie fan spot since the beloved musician movie La La Land. I cycled along the Arroyo Seco river every one or two weeks and passed under Colorado Street Bridge every time. Your mouth is the tunnel for the vehicles on the bridge toward or outward the movie-inspired wonderland, Los Angeles. The well-known Colorado Street Bridge pops up when you point the Snapchat lens toward you or a friend and open the mouth. LA Impression Snapchat lens exposes the image of Los Angeles from my point of view.
